Arts Decoratifs was opened on the 25th of May 2002.  Each piece is personally sourced by proprietor Ann Miller, who has a keen and knowledgeable eye, as well as years of experience and considerable flair.  This is reflected in the range and quality of the items in the shop from exquisite Lea Stein brooches to sumptuous period evening bags, silver and decorative items.

“I have been dealing for many years and saw the shop as a natural progression from the fairs and antique centres I had been concentrating on before.”

Ann Miller

Over the years, the shop has won various awards and accolades from being runner up in the Period Living & Traditional Homes magazine Best of British awards for Best Antique Shop to being part of Saffron Walden’s BACA (British Antiques and Collectibles Awards) award for Best Antiques Town.  It ranks as one of the inimitable outlets which make Saffron Walden a popular choice for visitors and those seeking a shopping experience different from the usual high street offering.

Ann firmly believes that you can have the ‘look’ of a given period without having to spend a fortune in the process.  She focuses on quality items that are of a design style without always carrying one of the big ticket brand names.  Special regard is given to items of stock from the Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Modernist genres.
